Seaton A continued their winning ways in the Exeter and District Over-60s Triples League with two emphatic victories last week, writes Linda Stone.

On Wednesday they travelled to Exonia B where they triumphed 42-21.

The top triple was David Ford, Keith Miles and Roger Woolland.

This success was followed up in a re-arranged fixture at home to Bradninch B on Friday which resulted in a 55-20 success.

The top triple, with a staggering 33 shot difference, was David Ford, Roy Carnell and Alan Wood.

Seaton Over-60s B team gained maximum points at home to Sidmouth C with a tense, nail-biting 38-28 win to stay in second place in the table.

In this match the top triple was Ed Backhouse, Doug Hislop and Dave Yardley.

The week ended with a friendly match between Seaton and Heavitree.

On a beautiful afternoon Seaton travelled to Exeter and, although beaten 8371, everyone had a really enjoyable afternoon.

The top rink for Seaton was Barry Conaway (a Heavitree player who stood in for one of Seaton’s players), Ruby Grigg, Terry Hurley-Smith and Linda Stone, winning 26 shots to 18.

Next Monday (August 26), Seaton Bowls Club will be holding a special afternoon drive to help raise money for the Carnival.

This is an open event, so anyone in the area is more than welcome to pop along and join in the fun.
