This is the week when the Tuesday Mixed play for the Chivers Goblets in a drawn-for-playing-partners Greensome Stableford, writes Andy Wagner.

The winners of the Goblets for April were Jan Dickinson and Allan Seager, pictured above, with 37pts. Second were Ro Poole and Dave Morgan with 35pts and third went to lady captain Jackie Seager with Mike Watts, with 34pts on count back.

●The seniors played a Murphys competition on a fairly wet course, but at least no-one got too wet. This format is rather unforgiving as it is scored as a Stableford, but with fewer points awarded. For a nett par the reward is zero, a bogey scores minus two and it will be seen that it is only too easy to build up a large negative score.

This did happen to more than a few players and there were only 12 players with positive scores. Jim Wallis won Division One with a score of six, Dave Maggs made four, Ted Chandler three, just edging out captain John Discombe on countback and the last prize was taken by Chris Street.

Division two was led by Mike Jones with an impressive 12 points and Norman Fleet made eight.

The other prizes were taken by Dave Morgan (again), Steve Blundell and Don Leach.
