Fifty-eight Honiton seniors faced very mixed weather conditions to play their Stableford and Eclectic 9, writes Andy Wagner.

Parts of the course were very wet and there were some temporary greens, but that did not stop Andy Sharland topping the scoring with 39 points, the best of the day.

The runners-up in division one were Jim Wallis on 36, Peter Shepherd on 34 and Eric Short just beat John Discombe.

Scoring was much closer in Division two.

Peter Blake won with 35 points, but the other prize winners were separated only on countback with 34 points.

They were Bob Milton, Allan Rowley, Derek Herrington and Steve Blundell.

The only two of the day was scored by Pete Morgan.
