MEMBERS of the Brit Axe Martial Arts Club went up to Tolworth Kingston upon Thames, London. All of the children who took part in the spirit combat got through to the next round which will take place early this year. There were also seven adults from the club who took part. Five of them, Ben Way, Simon Guest, Gavin Coombes, Gill Day and Becki Davey, were fighting to qualify in the competition and all were delighted to succeed.Jonathan Day took part in his second bout of the year, which ended in a victory, and went straight through to his next bout. He didn't win it but still became under-40 male kickboxing silver medalist, while his opponent got gold.Dominic Tate was the club's only full contact fighter of the night. It was Dominic's first ever full contact competition and hopefully not his last as he managed a win too!Anyone interested in joining either the children's spirit combat held at Seaton school hall or the adults' kickboxing held at Axminster Sports Hall should contact Gill Day on (01297) 625078 or Sensei Stephen Reynolds on 079711 83575
