Best-selling cycling and fitness author, journalist, photographer and broadcaster Chris Sidwells was in East Devon last week to interview Jack Reed, a young up-and-coming cyclist who is part of Performance Cycles CMI U23 cycling team. Jack, who aspires to cycling in the Tour de France, is often seen visiting schools in Devon inspiring future cyclists. He was unperturbed by the East Devon coast hills as he is a brilliant hill climber and cycles up hills faster than most could cycle on the flat! Local cyclist Alistair Cope, who accompanied Jack for the day, acted as the group’s guide as well as pointing out some of the finest cream tea stops. Alistair was showcasing some of his favourite rides in East Devon and it is hoped that Sidwells will produce an article for the cycling press about the beautiful East Devon and West Dorset area and recommend it as a great place to cycle.
