The team at Sidford Tennis Club are looking forward to helping the community start getting back to normal.
In addition to the usual court access to our members, our usual organised Tuesday and Thursday daytime social club sessions have now resumed.
To help both members and non-members restore a bit of fitness, our popular cardio sessions are also back underway.
We have our first organised social event of the year with a triples tournament on Sunday, April 11. This is to provide some much-awaited fun, social and competitive tennis to our members and is open to both adults and juniors aged 11yrs+.
Our regular Monday night Adult coaching programme then starts in earnest the week commencing April 19.
New for this year is an adult beginners course aimed at those who haven’t played tennis before or for “rusties” who haven’t played in at least 10 years. This includes an introductory two free sessions, so that people can try tennis and get to know us at Sidford first. This course starts on Saturday, April 24.
For the juniors, we are running a team challenge event on Friday, April 16, plus the LTA Youth Start programme aimed at juniors aged 8-11yrs who have never played tennis before.
Sidford Tennis Club is a friendly, community club and to help you improve your lifestyle you can be assured of a very warm welcome with the following facilities and events on offer to our members:
Organised club events – on average every 2 months with both competition and social; energetic Cardio sessions on Wednesday evenings and Friday mornings; daytime organised social play; club nights throughout the year on a Thursday night; Adult and Junior coaching – for all ages and levels; LTA Youth Start (formerly known as Tennis 4 Kids) – LTA initiative to introduce new juniors to tennis; opportunity to progress by playing for our local league teams; accessible easy parking; affordable membership – less than the cost of a cup of coffee per week; two floodlit courts with plans in progress for floodlights on our third court.
