Sidmouth Bowling Club enjoyed a super evening at the last of this year’s Sunset Umbrellas, writes Susie Bonnell.
The club hold several Sunset Umbrella meetings during the course of the outdoor season. It’s always an occasion where the members get together to enjoy a terrific, late evening game of bowls.
It does precisely what it says on the label - we play until it gets dark! Then we all gather in the bar or have a meal together.
This final meeting saw the adding up of all the games played to find the overall winner and that proved to be Mary Meadows - who was thrilled to receive her memento of the season from the organiser, Ann England.
Ann, together with her fellow teammate and organiser, Janet Thomson, hase done a terrific job this summer organising the games and the food - so a big thanks to them and a big thanks to all the members who came along and played.
