It’s been a very busy couple of months for the Honiton Swimming Club which recently held its Club Championships, with a very good turnout and all achieved some great results, writes Janet Bargmann.

Eleven swimmers from the Honiton Stingrays Swimming Club have been taking part in the Devon County Galas in Plymouth over the last few weeks.

It is the first time the club has entered so many swimmers in an event of this standard.

The swimmers found the experience tough, but it was worth it since they learnt so much about technique and competition at this level.

Several of the swimmers proved themselves by achieving times close to or equal to County times.

Some of the swimmers also took part in the County Sprints gala which took place on Sunday March 24, and was also held at the prestigious Plymouth Life Centre.

Six swimmers from the club participated in this event, and all achieved PBs.

A special mention should be made of Kerys Gibbs, 10 years, who took her first away gala in her stride and achieved some very good times.
