AVR members, the Smith family have been very busy in the last week, writes Dave Mutter.

First up was Caitlin Smith who, with her Colyton Grammar School team, competed in the East Devon versus Exeter junior girls race at Okehampton where she came home first! Then, a couple of days later, again with her school, she travelled to Bedford to run in the English Schools cross country cup national final.

Here Caitlin was a superb 11th out of 145 in the junior girl’s race and the Colyton team finished ninth out of 25 schools.

Last Sunday, Caitlin ran in the Devon cross country championships at Exeter and finished third in the Under-13 girl’s race.

Molly Smith also ran in the Devon cross country championships at Exeter on Sunday and finished fifth in the Under-15 girl’s race.

Last, but no least, Jake Smith ran for his college in the East Devon versus Exeter senior boy’s race at Okehampton where he crossed the line first.

Jake also ran in the Devon cross country championships at Exeter finishing 13th in the men’s race.
