Archant

After a week of inclement weather the Lyme Regis men’s November stableford was a bit like school break time as keen and eager golfers went out to play facing the changed conditions, writes Richard Jackman.

The ball carried less in the wet conditions and the superb greens, although still true, had less run on them, a tribute to David Everett and his devoted green team.

Despite the conditions there were some good scores in as Gareth Williams solid back nine saw him come top of Division One with 38 points.

Heading a clutch of 36 pointers were Rob Clapp and Geoff Moss who finished second and third respectively.

With the best score of the day, after a brilliant front nine, David Binns recorded a score of 39 points to win Division Two ahead of Matt Brotherton, with 37 points, and Joe Thirlwell, with 36 points.
