Inspired by last year’s results, Honiton Stingrays took to the water with focus and determination, at the club’s first time-trials for 2012, on Friday, January 20, writes Margaret Bargmann.

The Stingrays hoped to test their fitness and readiness, to take on another competitive year. The turnout was excellent and the swimmers supported each other throughout the evening.

Parents commented on how well their children had improved, over the last year. They particularly, commented on how they had improved on stroke technique, confidence and diving skills.

Swimmers were extremely disciplined and respectful of their fellow competitors, when starting races, if not competing. They would stop walking around and any talking, for all the starts.

Swimmers are now concentrating on performing and setting targets and goals for the New Year.

This all bodes well for another fantastic year of multiple PBs, by Honiton Stingray’s committed team of swimmers.
