Stong support for charity golf day

A Cancer Charity day held at Honiton Golf Club was supported by 152 competitors. Terry Dimond and Andy Mitchell are club members who are walking the Inca trail on Sept 5-14 to raise money for Breast Cancer Research, in memory of their wives.

A Cancer Charity day held at Honiton Golf Club was supported by 152 competitors.

Terry Dimond and Andy Mitchell are club members who are walking the Inca trail on Sept 5-14 to raise money for Breast Cancer Research, in memory of their wives.

They are self-funding the trip and the £2,774 raised on the day goes totally to the charity.

Terry said: "We would like to thank Securidor for their sponsorship of the prize table and everybody who donated time, prizes and money to the event, which made the day a great success."

The overall winners were Moira and Roger Styles from Ilfracombe with 45pts.

First ladies were Anne Davies and Jackie Seagar from Honiton with 41pts, first mixed pair were Julie Clarke and John Drew from East Devon with 43pts and first men's pair were Paul Hill and Andy Ford from Honiton with 42pts.

Terry and Andy would like to thank the organisers of this event, Elain Utting and Penny Blackburn, for all their help and support.
