Honiton Town recorded a ‘superb’ result, arguably their finests since joining the South West Peninsula League, but there was a third successive defeat on Cornish soil for Honiton RFC - all the local football and rugby on the final Saturday of October

Honiton Town recorded, without doubt, their finest result since they became a South West Peninsula League club as they grounded table-topping Elmore, beating the Eagles 3-2 at Mountbatten Way – only the second defeat of the league campaign so far for the Tiverton-based side.

Rikki Pitter, Ben Ede and, after Elmore thought they had done enough to take a share of the spoils, Tim Genders scored late on to give the Hippos a richly deserved three points.

Also in the SWP League Eastern Division, Axminster Town slipped to a narrow 1-0 reversal at University

In the Macron League, Beer Albion shared four goals with hosts Topsham Town in a top flight meeting.

Arguably the ‘result of the day’ in the Macron League Premier Division was achieved by Upottery who held table-topping Newtown to a 1-1 draw.
