Seaton Bowls Club defeated Ottery 3-2 to reach the quarter-finals of the Ladies TopClub.
There were wins for Angie Mayhew in the 2 Wood Singles, Liz Wilde and Lilian Hurley-Smith in the Pairs, and Heather Hudson, Margaret Nicholas, Joy Hawkins, and Linda Stone in the Rink.
The men's team had a fine 4-1 win at home against Honiton with a determined fightback by Terry Hurley-Smith to win the 4-wood singles and a majestic winning performance by Ken Sheen in the 2-wood singles, who went on to repeat the performance in the away match at Ottery.
The triples team of Mike Harding, Pierre Anton, and Ron Rowley put up a terrific fight to draw level after 18 ends and then win their match by 2 shots on the extra end, unfortunately, the team lost 3-2 overall. In the Men’s Over 60’s, Mike Macalpine, Ron Rowley, and Terry Hurley-Smith had a great win over the highly-rated Exonia.
