Target’s 100 per cent pass rate

eighth dan black belt Master Michael Dew, vice chairman of the Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain, travelled to Honiton to assess 100 students from various local towns.

Thirty-two of these were from the Target TAGB Tae Kwon-Do group of schools, all of whom were successful and have now gained new belts.

Instructors Mr Daren Sainsbury, who teaches at Colyton and Mr Gerry Waugh, who runs Axminster, Bridport, Charmouth, and Sidmouth classes, were delighted with the 100 per cent pass rate.

Six of the Sidmouth students, Molly McAndrew, Chloe Glover, Michael Zhang, Jamie Smith, Josh Solman and Lily Worthington, were awarded Plus passes. Another Sidmouth student, George Irish, achieved the highest possible mark, an A pass, which was also achieved, for the third grading in a row, by Maisie Bellworthy of Charmouth.

Molly McAndrew added further to her successes just a week later by gaining a silver medal for sparring at the Welsh Championships in Cardiff. This was her second national tournament success, after gaining a bronze in the British Championships last year.
