Axe Cliff Ladies played another of their County Prize Competition and it turned out to be a very close one. Captain Paula Heasman won with 30 points, but only on countback from Jill Wellington. Sandra Walker, also on countback, took third place from Jo Hopgood.

The Seniors had a very good turnout for their popular Yellow Ball Trophy team comp, which sees one member start with a Yellow Ball, which is then passed onto the next member consecutively. The score of the individual with the Yellow Ball is then doubled.

This year's champions were David Evans, Chris Alexander and young Gilbert Cox with an amazing 117 points. Not far behind was treasurer Bill Polley, tall Dave Weston and Welsh favourite Leighton Morgan on 112 pts. The much-fancied trio of Mike Wickens, Gerry Binmore and Nigel Garwood did well to take third spot with 110 pts.
