AXMINSTER Town were left kicking their heels last weekend when the bad weather wiped out the entire South West Peninsula League, Eastern Division programme.

It leaves the Tigers facing a congested period of 14 games to negotiate in the next eight weeks until the season's end in early May.

First up for Self's side is a swift return with Teignmouth Town who they visit this coming Saturday (3pm).

The South Devon side were beaten 4-1 at Sector Lane just 10 days ago, but, on their own ground, they do tend to be a different proposition as is underlined with them having been beaten just three times at home this term.

Frustratingly for Self, his side has just two more games this month after the Teignmouth trip with a visit University on the 13th, have a day without a game on the 20th and end the month with a home game against Galmpton Gents.

That will take the Tigers into the last full month of the season still with 11 games to play in what is going to be a busy schedule.

Self says: "We are in for a hectic time, but, hopefully, the players will relish the challenge that a congested programme brings. It's going to need the whole squad playing their part and I am sure they will all get their chance to play a part as we strive for as high a finish as possible."
