Axminster Town Reserves were involved in an extraordinary Fresha League Division Four game when they defeated North Tawton at Tiger Way in a contest that produced 15 goals.
The Tigers won, but not before trailing 5-4 at half-time. It was a superb second half performance from all the home side that saw them score six unanswered goals to claim the points.
Ollie Highett, Dan Beer, Sam Dibling and teenager Joe Urqhart each bagged a brace and there were single goals from Gary Spiller and Matt Hewer.
The Tigers second string have now scored 29 goals and conceded 23 in their opening six league games – that’s an average of eight each time they take to the pitch!
In what proved to be an exceptional day for the club the Town third team were also winners as they won 3-1 at Exmouth Amateurs which, with the senior side winning 4-1 at Liverton, means all three Town sides won on the final Saturday of September, scoring 17 goals between them in the process.
