Trayling triumph in Breakthrough Brooch

Honiton ladies played for the LGU Breakthrough Brooch and also contested a medal competition, writes Liz Rogers.
It was a bright and breezy day, but the course was playing quite long following the heavy rain in the previous days.
Gill Johnson continued her good form and won the Breakthrough Brooch with a net score of 76. Her performance also resulted in a handicap reduction.
In the medal there was Silver Division success for Ann Trayling who took first place with net 77 with second place going to Chris Pearce after countback with a net 78.
In Bronze One Division, Gill Johnson took the lead with her net 76.
Coming in second was Diana Gee with a net 81 and Ann Desmoulins took third place with a net 82
Sheila Palmer was top of the Bronze 2 Division with a net 79.
In a 9-hole stableford competition, June Hodge took top spot with 13 points and the runner-up was Catherine Hunt with 12 points.
