Axe Cliff GC Men had a great turnout for their annual Easter Bowl Trophy and Jimmy Matthews enjoyed it the most by becoming the champion for 2022 with a great Medal score of 69 (86-17).
Chris Glover was not far behind in second spot, followed by the evergreen Senior, Nigel Pritchard, who still plays off a handicap of 14.
The Seniors battled in their Monthly Medal, last Friday week, and a big challenge from the white tees. Nigel Pritchard came up trumps again to win Division 1with a nett 68 and 2nd & 3rd both had nett 69 with the countback going to Colin Hales from figures man Roger Hill.
The Seniors last week entertained a team from Charminster and I was honoured to be asked to Captain. A great day with weather and company, and we managed to win 4-1. We all enjoyed a lovely Carvery and dessert cooked by our wonderful Tracey in the clubhouse afterwards.
