Uplyme & Lyme Regis warmed up for this Saturday’s East Devon derby with Seaton by beating hosts Halberton & Sampford Peverell by two wickets.
The Mid Devon side batted first and were looking set for a commanding total, reaching three figures for the loss of just one wicket.
However, once the second wicket fell others followed at regular intervals and they lost their last batsman with the total on 172 after 36.4 overs.
The wicket taking duties were shared by three bowlers with Alex Taylor claiming 4-55, Adam Caddy bagging 3-34, both from nine over stints whilst Steve Batey finished with 2-9 from 3.4 overs.
The run chase was smooth as the visitors would, have liked and they were a troubled 101-6 when number three bat Henry Perry was joined by Steve Batey and the pair added 62 for the seventh wicket before Perry eventually fell for a battling 38. Batey fell with the score also on 163, but Mark Brimmacombe and Rhys Davies saw their side to a two wicket win.
