It has taken a few weeks, three defeats and three wash-outs, but Upottery have now recorded their first victory in C Division East of the Devon Cricket League.
Just to make the success taste even sweeter, the win came against a previously undefeated Exeter CC Seconds.
Celebrations seemed a long way off when Exeter ratcheted up a powerful 241-7 after being put into bat by Upottery skipper Mark Joyce.
Ryan Pulman took two wickets, with the rest spread around the bowling attack, and Upottery started their reply in solid fashion, moving to within 200 of the target with just one wicket down.
Upottery gradually ticked through the scoring milestones and eventually won by an impressive four wickets with three-and-a-half overs still in the bank.
James Mitchan top scored with 75 and there were useful contributions from Matt Broom (34), Adam Pulman (29), Ben Kidson (28) and Ryan Pulman (31).
