Newtown 5, Upottery 1 Upottery slipped to their first away defeat in all competitions since September 15.
The score line does not give a true reflection of the contest, as Upottery boss Dan Prettejohn was keen to explain saying: “It was one of those days when everything we tried did not come off and everything they did turned to gold! We had four or five really good chances when it was 1-1 and had we put away just half of them then I am convinced we’d have seen a very different final score.”
Trailing to an early goal it was Chas Lane who restored parity.
The chances came and went before the home side got their noses in front and from that point on it all went down hill for the villagers!
Danny Symons dished up the Man of the Match performance for Upottery who entertain Ottery St Mary this Saturday (3pm).
