Upottery’s bid to stay in the D Division was dealt a big blow as they went down by four wickets in their final home game of the season to another relegation threatened side, Bridestowe.

Matthew Button-Stephens top scored with 35 and Jason Kennard weighed in with 31 in a below-par Upottery offering of 158.

The visitors got home with four wickets remaining to climb clear of the bottom two and edge Upottery closer to the drop.

For Upottery to survive they must win handsomely at Kentisbeare on Saturday and even then that might not be sufficient for a Bridestowe points haul of eleven points in their home meeting with Whimple would mean no matter what happens at Kentisbeare, Upottery would go down.
