Vice captain sees off captain in four-ball matchplay at Honiton

The Honiton seniors captain and vice captain chose their own teams to compete in a four-ball match play event for the captain/vice captains shield, writes Andy Wagner.

There were 84 players who enjoyed very good conditions and everyone seemed to enjoy it, even the losers!

Since he chose his own team, captain Bob Underwood had no reason to complain when Bill Eaton’s team won by fourteen-and-a-half to six-and-a-half.

Eaton put on a brave face when he handed over the (less than magnificent) trophy.
