Wasps zip ahead

Three weeks into the season and OPG and Flamingos still lead the way. No changes in league table this week with OPG staying top and Bo-Peeps at the foot of the table, writes Graham Ingram.
OPG were up against Uplowman and they got off to a good start with a 15-6 lead. With Viv Grant playing well for Uplowman they pulled back to 17-22 at half way.
With Denise Meyers in determined form, OPG re-asserted their authority to finish the game with a 49-29 win, with a point for Uplowman. The Flamingos v Hi Q game was a low scoring affair. The honours went to Flamingos eventually at 21-8, although Hi Q had led 3-2 at quarter time and were just 5-4 down at half way. Katie Marsh was the Flamingos’ star whilst Stacey Salter was the Hi Q player.
The Wasps against Bo-Peeps game was a slow starter but with Wasps on top by 10-7. In the second quarter Wasps extended their lead to 19-12. The third period saw both teams playing well with Nicola Field in good from for Wasps they started the final period 29-19 in front. Although Debbie Wheeler played well for Bo-Peeps it was Wasps who finished on top by 40-24, with the Peeps picking up their first point.

Division Two: Tip Top Trees 34, NAS 15

Weather Girls 49, Sidmouth Toucans 11
Weather Girls maintained their unbeaten run with a convincing victory over Sidmouth Toucans. They dominated throughout with Rebecca Green having an excellent game, and although Anna Rowson worked hard for Sidmouth, they were never in the game and went down by 49-11.
Howden Hawks bounced back against JD Tyres. The first quarter was close at 4-3 but by half way Hawks were 19-10 in front and finished victors by 42-26 thanks to some good play from Hayley Ward with Tanya Broom working hard for JD.
Tip Top Trees maintained their 100 per cent run and second place with a fine win over NAS. 3Ts led 4-0 at quarter time before opening up a 18-3 lead thanks to good work from Harriet Eaton at GD frustrating the NAS attack. NAS played themselves back into contention in the third period but 3Ts got back in control however to end victors by 34-15.
