I can only imagine that it must be the weather’s fault that our ladies found the going difficult in this week’s medal competition - glorious, sunny and warm - well we’re just not used to it are we, writes Andy Wagner.

So results dictated that the scratch was altered to 75, but nevertheless some worthy winners.

In Silver Division Jane Watts was first with a very respectable nett 72, while Rosemary Greenhorn, back on top form, was second with nett 76, and new name in despatches, Su Calver, was third with nett 78.

In Bronze 1 Division, Joan Smith, with a very convincing nett 69 took first place with Ann Desmoulin, back in the saddle, second with nett 72. Hilda Hoepelman scored a nett 78 to come third.

Bronze 2 Division winner was decided on count back with Susan Hyde coming out ahead of Jan Portlock, both with nett 75.

Our 9-hole qualifying stableford competition this week was won by Pam Greenaway with 17points and Pam Manning took second with 15 points.
