After some recent good performances at Lyme Regis, Phil Webb climbed to the top, winning Division One of the December medal by four shots with a nett 68 ahead of Neal Cullen and Roger Turner nett 72 and 73 respectively, writes Richard Jackman.

With the best score of the day, John Hodgetts won Division Two in emphatic style and by a big margin, carding a nett 67, with Les Bounds, 75, second and third was Tom Barclay, 76

The weather-affected seniors’ stableford saw a close competition in Division One between Julian Cox and club captain John Coley who both scored 36 points with Julian winning on countback and a steady 35 points put Brian Clark in third.

Division Two belonged to Keith Chapell whose grafted 34 points was well ahead of Bob Shepherd 25 and Phil Banner 24 in second and third places respectively.

The ladies’ greensomes competition defied the weather to allow Rosemary Dare and Felicity Horton to score an impressive 36 points to come first, beating Rosie Jackman and Emma Davies who came second on countback from Corinne Jones and Mary Minter both scoring 33 points.
