Considering the recent extremely wet weather, the most recent Friday seniors event at Axe Valley was rain free with little wind, which went some way to explain the excellent scores in the December Medal, writes Janet Dack.
The winner with a superb 66 nett was Dave Weston (21), whose inward half of 40, helped him to beat Alan Vincent (19), the early leader with 67, by one stroke.
Two players returned scores of 68 and third place on count back went to Mike Jamieson (25) with Roger Hill (18) the player to miss out on the prizes.
There were four two’s with John Mant, Nick Stanton, Geoff Hubbard and the afore-mentioned Alan Vincent the successful players.
