Alistair said: "The Tour of Britain has two stages crossing back and forth within Devon and Somerset. This is a great opportunity to promote cycling and also a fantastic chance for cycle fans to see some of the best international cyclists. Taking part are riders from 19 different countries with star names like Olympic Gold Medallist and recent fourth place finisher in the Tour de France, Bradley Wiggins, triple Tour of Britain stage winner Edvald Boasson Hagen and top Italian rider Filippo Pozzato."

Alistair and Glenn were invited up to the head quarters of Garmin in Southampton where, after a chance to meet the team, they set off on a 20 mile ride in the New Forest. "It was quite an occasion," said Alistair, "cycling alongside Bradley Wiggins and talking to him about the Tour of Britain and his visit to East Devon on Friday."

Glenn was equally enthusiastic.

He has been a cycle fan for many years and he said: "Riding with Wiggo was just brilliant. It is my hope that having such a prominent cyclist passing through East Devon will bring out the crowds.
