Whimple 2nds were taking on Exeter III in a G Division East game and they beat the City side by eight runs.
Batting first, Whimple opener Barry Wright scored 25, but at 87-7 the home side looked set for a low score to defend before runs from the tail via Harry McNamara-Campbell (18), John Bardot (12) and Sam Jefferson (15), pushed them up to a closing total of 152.
Exeter also struggled with the bat as they slipped to 14-3.
They recovered to get close, but Whimple were not to be denied as Exeter closed on 144-9 with McNamara-Campbell claimed three wickets for 17 runs from a full complement of eight overs and Sam Jefferson sent down five overs for his return of 2-11.
