Arias and duets from opera

Mozart, Puccini, Gounod, Handel, etc – names to make opera buffs drool with delight. Thanks to Honiton Festival they, or at least their music, will be a reality in the town in March when leading singers of English Touring Opera stop off on their way to Exeter's Northcott Theatre

Mozart, Puccini, Gounod, Handel, etc - names to make opera buffs drool with delight. Thanks to Honiton Festival they, or at least their music, will be a reality in the town in March when leading singers of English Touring Opera stop off on their way to Exeter's Northcott Theatre where, in recent times, they have been in residence for two weeks each year.

Soprano Jane Harrington, tenor Mike Bracegirdle and Polish bass Piotr Lempa will be singing arias and duets from Mozart's The Magic Flute, and Janacek's Katya Kabanova. Both are operas that can be heard in full in Exeter. There will also be excerpts from Gounod's Faust, Handel's Ariodante, Puccini's La Boheme and Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin.

With a popular programme such as this, there is likely to be a considerable demand for tickets which may be obtained at the Tourist Information Centre, in Lace Walk car park, or, subject to availability, at the door.

The concert takes place on Friday, March 27, at 7.30pm, in St Paul's Church.
