Starting this Saturday (August 26), the walls of the Lyme Town Mill’s Malthouse Gallery will be home to a carefully selected set of contemporary photographs, together with a display of earthenware pottery decorated with bird, leaf and seashore designs.
These are the latest works of two East Devon photographers, Tricia Scott and Lois Wakeman, which are being showcased in a joint exhibition entitled Driven to Abstraction.
Both are fascinated by unseen corners and decay, finding beauty there that others might pass by without noticing – in forgotten corners of boatyards, dilapidated buildings, weathered concrete and wood.
Lois concentrates on the local landscape and flora, whilst Tricia, a keen traveller, has a much wider scope for her images.
The exhibition runs from Saturday, August 26, to September 6, open daily from 10.30am to 5pm, admission free. More details can be found on www.townmillarts.co.uk
