This year, there is a huge increase in the number of artists taking part in Dorset ARTWeeks in the Lyme Regis and Marshwood Vale area.

Forty-four artists now make up the group.

The Lyme Regis and Marshwood Vale area spreads from Morcombelake through Charmouth, Lyme Regis and east, and as far as the Devon border.

This is the 10th biennial of Dorset ARTWeeks, and it is being celebrated in the Lyme Regis and Marshwood Vale area by offering a "taster" exhibition from May 15 to June 13, where visitors will be able to see examples of work by some of the artists taking part in Dorset ARTWeeks 2010 and collect brochures early, so they can visit Open Studios throughout Dorset.

A spokesman said: "Peter Wiles, who is taking part in the event from his studio in Lyme Regis, called us together to celebrate the lead into Dorset Art Weeks at Pilsden Pen, known for its outstanding views over the Marshwood Vale, but as you see, we were sheltering under umbrellas in the mist."
