Awliscombe Village Hall will here the music of a capella group Freeplay this weekend.
A capella group Freeplay will be appearing at Awliscombe village Hall this weekend.
Multi-faceted musicians Suba Sankaran and Dylan Bell join forces to create the FreePlay duo, using live-looping to create eight-part harmonies.
Dylan and Suba will take you from the concert halls of Europe, to the jazz clubs of Manhattan, to the temples of India, and back to the cultural mosaic of their native Toronto… all without leaving your seat.
From Bach to Bird to the Beatles, FreePlay effortlessly cross musical boundaries, continually combining and recombining sounds to create a concert of endless variety, with the intimate delivery of two people.
Imagine Simon and Garfunkel crossed with a Bach two-part invention; an acrobatic jazz melody combined with ancient Indian solkattu; an eight-part vocal arrangement created by two singers, using innovative live-looping techniques… and you'll get a glimpse of what the duo has to offer.
The concert takes place at Awliscombe Village Hall on Saturday, June 15, at 8pm.
Tickets cost £9 for adults, £7 for children and family tickets cost £25 - book online at www.villagesinaction.co.uk or call 01404 45145.
This is a Villages In Action event, which is being promoted by Creative Beings CIC.
As well as promoting this concert, Creative Beings is a social enterprise that supports creative practice for wellbeing.
