It is all change at Axminster Choral Society. Due to various small problems, it has been decided to change the date of the group's spring concert to Saturday, April 17.

However, this enables them to stage Dvorak's Stabat Mater and Vaughn Williams' Five Mystical Songs in the larger and more comfortable venue of Axminster Guildhall.

Once again the highly professional Orchestrawest will be accompanying the choir of some 80 singers under the baton of Dr Francis Burroughes.

At the society's Christmas concert, it was standing room only.

Members are hoping that a return to the larger venue will give the audience more room and a better view, in warmer and more comfortable surroundings.

Rehearsals are still in progress on Tuesday evenings, at 7.30pm, in the Minster church, and new members would be welcomed.
