Third annual bed races set to take place in Colyton.

Colyton will playing host to the Mighty Bed Race, which is being organised by the Nunsford Nutters Carnival Club.

It will be the third time the race has been run and this year it will be taking place on Saturday, June 9.

Starting at 1pm, in Colyton town centre, the Mighty Bed Race will include a children’s pram race, teen bed race and adult bed race.

Competitors are invited to build a bed with a minimum of three wheels and be at least six feet long and three feet wide.

Teams are made up of five people and entrants will be expected to complete a course around Colyton.

Nunsford Nutters Carnival Club builds comic floats each year, which it enters into carnivals in East Devon and further afield.

The club also donates some of the money it raises to charity and this year is backing the memory café, which helps people with dementia.
