There are plenty of events taking place across the area and here are just a few.

Under Cover - raising and growing plants in greenhouses, cloches and cold frames, and also in the porch, conservatory and house will be the talk presented to Chardstock Gardening Club.

It will be presented by Anne Swithinbank of BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time.

It takes place on Wednesday , January 17, at 7.30pm, at Chardstock Community Hall, Westcombes.

Admission is £6 for non-members


Honiton and District Flower Club will be hosting Elizabeth Graham (national demonstrator), and her talk Heralds of Spring, at Offwell Village Hall on Thursday, January 11, at 2.15pm.

Members £5, visitors £10.


Axminster Drama Club will take to the stage next week with its annual pantomime.

Rapunzel features many of the traditional elements of panto.

The production takes place from Thursday, January 18 to Saturday, January 20, with tickets available from Archaway Bookshop, Church Street, Axminster.
