Children’s weekend drama workshop planned to take place in Axminster

Youngsters in Axminster will get the chance to develop their theatre skills with a weekend workshop at Axminster Primary Academy.

The event is being organised by Axminster Drama Club (ADC), and will be on the theme of The Addams Family, the musical, which the club is also planning to stage in January 2019, as a youth production, instead of its usual pantomime.

Children, aged between nine and 16, are being invited to take part in a range of drama activities, including tutorials about stage make-up, acting, choreography and singing.

The event follows the successful workshop held by ADC in February, which was to the theme of Matilda.

On that occasion, the group worked towards producing a 20-minute version of the West End show, which was performed at the end of the event.

The two-day workshop will take place from Saturday, July 21 to Sunday, July 22, from 9.30am to 5pm, at a cost of £25.
