THIS year the Morcombelake Art Group will be celebrating Bridport Open Studios by showing examples of the art of printmaking at its annual exhibition over August Bank Holiday – from Friday, August 22, to Monday, August 25.
THIS year the Morcombelake Art Group will be celebrating Bridport Open Studios by showing examples of the art of printmaking at its annual exhibition over August Bank Holiday - from Friday, August 22, to Monday, August 25.
Under the title of Impress-Imprint, members will exhibit a wide range of work produced using hand printing methods, including etching, collagraph, monoprint, relief print and screen print. Various printing methods will be explained as part of the display.
Members taking part are Joanne Brown, Jan Calow, Ronnie Creswell, Edna Dorrington, Joan Dyson, Elizabeth Fortescue, Barbara Green, Eric Hawkins, Tricia Hawkins, Kay Hicks, Judy Hogarth, Pat Keogh, Sue Knight, Margaret Sharpe, Sue Warren, Lyn Whiteman, Peter Wingfield and Anne Vear.
The exhibition will be held at the James Hargreaves Community Hall, Morcombelake, and will be open each day from 10am to 5pm. There is a ramp for wheelchairs and disabled parking behind the hall. Entry to the exhibition is free. Hand made prints will be for sale as well as artists' cards. Refreshments will also be available.
With its lovely views of the sea and Golden Cap from Hardown Hill, Morcombelake is well worth a visit and those coming to the hall can be assured of a warm welcome and a wide variety of attractive and interesting work to view.
