Jazz legend to host workshop

The Sheldon Singers are inviting all singers in the area to join with them in a day s workshop under the expert tuition of jazz legend Scott Stroman. Scott comes to St Paul s Honiton on Saturday, April 18

The Sheldon Singers are inviting all singers in the area to join with them in a day's workshop under the expert tuition of jazz legend Scott Stroman.

Scott comes to St Paul's Honiton on Saturday, April 18, fresh from working with the London Symphony Orchestra.

He will be assisted by a jazz combo headed by Chris Gradwell of The Little Big Band will teach participants his own composition Jazz Mass which will be performed for the public at 5pm.

Musical Director , Julie De'Ath Lancaster is delighted at securing Scott's visit to the South-West.

She said: "He' s a conductor, jazz trombonist, singer, composer, tutor and a professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he has headed their jazz programme for 25 years. He works regularly with the LSO and is a director of the The London Jazz Orchestra. It's a great opportunity to work with one so gifted."
