It's Jazz time in Honiton's St Paul's Church.
First, on Saturday, April 18, anyone who loves to sing, whether in a choir or in the bath, is invited to join the Sheldon Singers' workshop.
The singer's musical director, Julie De'Ath Lancaster, has persuaded internationally famous jazz trombonist, composer and professor Scott Stroman to lead the workshop, which will first learn and then, at 5pm, perform for the public Scott's own Jazz Mass.
Singers are coming from all over the south west but places are still available.
The day costs £10, commences at 10.30am and finishes at 6pm. Details from Mike Jones on (01404) 45308.
And then "the Duke" swings into town on Saturday, April 25, 7.30pm, which sees Chris Gradwell and the Little Big Band at St Paul's accompanying the Sheldon Singers in Duke Ellington's lively and moving Sacred Concert. The programme also includes Tippett's settings of well known spirituals. Tickets available from Wine World, High Street, Honiton, and on the door (£10 and £8).
