The Kilmington Players’ production of Babes in the Wood, opens this evening.

The story is based loosely on the tale of Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham.

The wicked Prince John plans to have his absent brother King Richard’s children kidnapped and killed, so that he can claim the throne of England for himself.

To this end, he enlists the greedy Sheriff of Nottingham to do his dirty work for him and he in turn employs two idiot baddies, Riff and Raff.

This turns out to be his mistake and the Babes’ good fortune.

The cast and crew have now completed their final rehearsals.

There will be laughter, music, slapstick and lots of opportunities to boo the baddies at Kilmington Village Hall from today, Wednesday, February 17, to Saturday, February 20, at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from Hurford’s Stores and cost £6 for adults and £3 for children.
