On Sunday, August 9, at 3.30pm, Brilliant dutch soprano Marije Heemskerk will sing a short recital for the Lyme Regis organ appeal at St Michael's parish church. Marije, a professional singer, arranger and conductor from the Netherlands, visited Lyme Regis earlier this year and read about the organ appeal at the Church. She kindly contacted the appeal organisers and offered to perform a short concert in aid of the appeal this Sunday, whilst returning to Lyme Regis for her summer vacation. Marije will sing songs by Schubert, Schumann and Handel, as well as arrangements and songs she has composed herself. The recital will be accompanied by church organist Alex Davies and Bibi Boehme. Tea and cake to follow in the Church hall. Retiring collection to the appeal. See www.lymeregisorganappeal.com for more details.
