Traditional event set to take place on Saturday, September 29.

The Medieval-themed family fun afternoon starts with a parade through the streets to the Fayre site starting at 1.30pm, at the Elms, in Colyford.

Organisers are inviting people to dress up and join the procession, before the fayre is officially opened by the Mayor at 2pm, as the parade arrives at Springfield.

A spokesman for the event said: “Dressing the part is not mandatory but it helps everybody get into the medieval mood for and afternoon of feasting, sport and dancing.”

The event will feature a variety of stalls selling their wares, as well as a ram roast and other refreshments.

Among the attractions will be birds of prey, fighting knights, Punch and Judy, archery and circus skills.

Programmes £4 per adult, kids go free and free parking.

Organisers are hoping for better weather this year, after last year’s event had to be moved to the Colyford Memorial Hall.
