Membury Merrymakers to stage Hunch-Back of Notre Dame

Membury Village hall is set to host the annual pantomime by the Merrymakers.

The Membury Merrymakers are in the last stages of rehearsal as they prepare for their pantomime, which will be The Hunch-Back of Notre Dame.

The production has the backing of Axminster Carpets and will be staged from Thursday, January 25 to Saturday, January 27, at Membury Village Hall.

Set in 1953, with the Queen’s coronation is keenly awaited, all is not well at the famous cathedral.

The villainous administrator Claude Frollo has his fingers in the till and necessary repairs are not being carried out; he has an evil plan to increase his ill-gotten gains.

He intends to trick the innocent Quasimodo into helping him with a dastardly plan involving Axminster Carpets.

Evening performances start at 7.30pm and their will be a matinee on the Saturday, at 2pm.

Tickets cost £6.50 for adults and £3.50 for children, with £1 off all tickets for the matinee.
