AUDITIONS for Axminster Operatic Society's forthcoming production of Show Boat are to be held on Sunday, May 23, at 3pm, in The Churchill Rooms, Axminster Guildhall.

The first rehearsal will be held in Axminster Conservative Club, on Monday, May 24, at 7.30pm.

New members are especially welcome to join in what is promising to be an amazing production. If you are interested in a part, there will be a pre-audition evening to go through the musical numbers on Monday, May 17, in Axminster Conservative Club, at 7.30 pm.

Show Boat is one of the most spectacular and demanding shows in the musical repertoire of Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II, with well-known songs such as Ol'Man River, Only Make Believe, Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man and Bill.

This production will be directed by Nick Lawrence and the musical director is Rob Preece. There is a great deal of work for the very large chorus, so the production is hoping for a good turnout for the first rehearsal.
