The cast and crew for Axminster Drama Club’s pantomime are full of beans for a giant of a show this year.

With a cast of around 50 performers and a backstage crew of builders, scenery painters, sound and light technicians, stage crew and front of house staff, more than 80 club members have got involved in putting on the show, which opens on Thursday, January 14.

Working under the direction of Jack Price, rehearsals and set building have been under way since August and preparations are nearing completion as opening night approaches.

The story follows the traditional tale of a giant in his castle, who is the owner of a magic harp and a hen that lays golden eggs, and the intrepid Jack who climbs a beanstalk.

Tickets are on sale at Archway Bookshop, Church Street, Axminster, with performances set to run from Thursday, January 14, to Saturday, January 16, including a matinee on the Saturday.
