There will be a host of fun classes in the dog show at the Northleigh Village Fete this year.

If you want a chance of winning a rosette at the event, you could enter your canine friend in one of the following classes: Best turned out dog or bitch; most loveable rogue; sauciest madam; best small dog under 15”; best large dog over 15” (both classes including puppies); best recall over a limited distance; dog most like its owner (effort will be rewarded); best retrieve (best fetch of 3); dog judges would most like to take home.

Entries are invited for the day of the dog show and cost 50p per class, and there will be a trophy for the best in show and three rosettes in each class, and the show takes place between 3pm and 4pm.

Also on offer at the event will be various stalls (jewellery, books, etc), tombola, raffle, bouncy castle, lucky dip, heavy horse demonstration, cream teas and games.

Northleigh Village Fete starts at 2 pm on Saturday July 17, and goes on until 5pm, at Northleigh Village Hall. There will be plenty of parking in adjacent fields. Admission is £1 for adults and 50p for children under 12.

Proceeds will go to St Giles’ Church, Northleigh and on Sunday, July 18, there will be Songs of Praise at 6 pm, in the church.
