Rod Burnett of Storybox Theatre is a rare talent. He can hold an audience spell-bound with his masterful puppetry and storytelling.

He creates a magical world of make believe that can hold all but the hardest of hearts in thrall.

Rod's skill with glove puppets brings them leaping to life and the craft of making them just has to be seen.

Rod is always very happy to allow a closer inspection at the end of the show.

The Fisherman is based on an ancient tale collected by the Brothers Grimm. A simple fisherman's life changes beyond all recognition when he finds out what happens if you ask for too much.

Rod brings the characters to life using the minimum of fuss. His set cleverly draws you in to the magic world of the puppet until you forget there's a tall human involved somewhere making it all happen.

He will be performing The Fisherman at Talaton Parish Hall, on Saturday, February 13, at 6pm.

Tickets are available from Talaton Village Shop or from (01404) 822666.

There are more than 50 Villages in Action events happening all across Devon this spring. Programmes are available from local libraries, district council offices, Tourist Information Centres or direct from (01363) 773660, admin@villagesinaction.co.uk or www.villagesinaction.co.uk.
